Hopelink

Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities. Hopelink’s mission is to promote self-sufficiency for all members of our community; we help people make lasting change.

Hopelink emergency service centers are located in Bellevue, Kirkland, Northshore, Redmond, Shoreline and Sno-Valley.

Hopelink is funded by diverse sources including public and private foundations, United Way, government support and by donations from individuals, organizations and corporations in the community. Hopelink runs efficiently by keeping expenses low. With administrative costs at only eight percent of the budget, a full 92% of financial support goes directly to helping families in crisis and preventing homelessness.

Northwest Harvest

Northwest Harvest is Washington's own, and only, statewide hunger relief agency. We supply food free, without dues or fees of any kind, to a network of nearly 300 independent food banks and meal programs throughout the state.

We take pride in distributing a high-end, nutritious menu, realizing that our clients are among society's most vulnerable: over 55% of those we serve are children and the elderly. These populations are the most affected by a compromised diet.

We require no proof of need, serving all who come to us. All of our donated food and funds come from individuals, businesses, foundations and other organizations. 93 percent of our total budget goes to food distribution.

Youth Care

There are close to 1,000 homeless youth in Seattle every night. They sleep in cars, abandoned buildings, under bridges and on friend’s couches. These young people are often homeless because the streets are safer than home. Many have been abused and abandoned. Their stories are tragic. Once on the streets, kids have few resources to find food, clothing and shelter for survival. Without proper resources youth are more likely to turn to destructive behaviors, such as crime, prostitution and drugs.

Every youth should have a warm place to stay, healthy food, caring adults, and opportunities to grow and succeed. YouthCare delivers services that meet the needs of Seattle’s homeless and at-risk youth.

History
Founded in 1974, YouthCare was the first shelter for homeless youth in the Western United States and continues to be a leader in providing services to this vulnerable population. Beginning as a three-bed shelter for runaways, YouthCare has grown and expanded to become a community-based agency with six sites serving the greater Seattle area.

Today, YouthCare’s services range from street outreach and residential housing to employment training.
